About Me

"I believe that you are the expert of your own life. My role as a therapist is to listen attentively, without judgement, and to support you..."

welcome to Calm & Kind Counselling

I’m Cristina, a fully qualified Person-Centred counsellor, with a BSc Honours Degree in Psychology and a MSc in Psychological Techniques for Behaviour Management and the Development of Human Potential, specializing in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I’m also currently working towards a Positive Psychology Coaching Certification.

I am deeply passionate about empowering individuals to achieve emotional well-being and personal growth.

My approach is grounded in empathy and respect, creating a space where you can feel fully heard, accepted and supported.

I’m dedicated to supporting you in finding clarity and overcome your challenges, but also to finding a path to greater fulfilment, resilience and peace.

I am registered with The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) which means I abide by the Society's Code of Ethics and I aim to ensure safe, competent and ethical practice at all times.

I have experience working working with adults and young people. I have been practicing both in-person and online counselling within various organisations and charities such as Service Six, Pegasus and Lakelands Hospice which gives me a broad experience in a varied spectrum of issues including anxiety, stress, anger, grief/loss, relationships problems, self-esteem & confidence, chronic pain, depression and other life challenges. Trauma is a feature of many of my client's stories.

Empathy and understanding of my clients’ unique needs, ensuring their best interests is at the heart of my practice.

My Approach

I take a Person-Centred (PC) Approach  to counselling, which means I prioritise empathy, authenticity and unconditional positive regard in every session and these form the heart of our work together.

I believe that when people feel truly heard and accepted, they are able to explore their thoughts and feelings more freely, leading to healing and growth.

In addition to Person-Centred Therapy, I can also incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques to help you identify and shift negative thought patterns that may be holding you back.

As I pursue my Positive Psychology Coaching Certification, I am passionate about empowering my clients to cultivate a positive mindset, discover their strengths and pursue meaningful goals.

Having trained in different theoretical approaches, I have a Pluralistic outlook to therapy, meaning that I consider no two people or their circumstances as the same, and you are totally unique.

In our work together, I will draw upon my broad skill-set and experience for whatever you and your situation need. In some cases, I find that creative tools can be incredibly helpful in facilitating self-expression and deeper insight.

With a blend of Person-Centred therapy, CBT techniques, positive psychology, mindfulness practices and creative tools, I offer a holistic approach tailored to your unique needs and interests.

If you are ready to take the first step toward a more balanced, peaceful and fulfilling life, I would be honoured to support you on your journey.
